Music Monday

The Ember Days.
This band is AWESOME. I can listen to their albums over and over.
Modern praise music, slightly reminiscent of Sigur Ros.
Yes and Yes. :)
Enough talking, I'll just let their beautiful music do the rest.

Oh, and you can download a couple of their albums for FREE at comeandlive.com!
Happy Music Monday!

Music Monday

Ahh nostalgia. I used to listen to lots of punk bands, and I was even in one (blogged about here). The Briefs are so fun, upbeat and catchy. I still listen to them occasionally, and my son LOVES them. He will dance and sing and play air guitar anytime I play one of their songs. :)

I got to see them play in Chicago in 2005, in a really tiny club. They were great and I kept yelling at them to play "New Shoes". They eventually did. :)

Here's that song:

Music Monday

So Long Forgotten

Their album, Things We Can See and Things We Cannot, is just amazing. It evokes a lot of emotion within me. I can honestly listen to "Wonderers or Wanderers" on repeat. Although the album is from 2009, it is new to me, and I am just in love with their music.

Fun Fact: They are from the same area that I am, and they played a show in my Mom's basement for my brothers birthday in 2006 :)

Here is that song I can't get enough of:

Check out more about the band here.

Music Monday

Its no secret I dig The Shins, as I featured them in a previous Music Monday. Well, their front man James Mercer and Danger Mouse's Brian Burton started a new project in 2009, and wow are they good.

They are the Broken Bells.

Here is an awesome song I can't get enough of:

Go check out their website too, its awesome. My 4 year-old son was freaking out. He said very excitedly, "I wanna hear the dance music!" and turned up the volume. :)

Happy Music Monday!

Music Monday

This post is coming a little late in the evening. My daughter has a bad case of hives and I had to take her to the Dr. today. :( Poor baby.

I really had to share this song/video. It is all so lovely and well done. I could seriously listen to and watch this over and over. :)

What do you think?

Hope your Monday was great! :)

Happy March 1st! (And Music Monday, on a Tuesday)

It's March already!?!? I can't believe it. The sun is shining, its a new month, and spring is almost here! There is a lot to be excited about. :)

I wanted to announce that the winner of the giveaway is Jill Kozlowski! Congratulations Jill!

I'll be having another giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that.

I'm anxiously awaiting the mail each day, because I have zippers coming! (Its like Christmas morning whenever I get a package with new zippers or fabric, haha.) New pouches will be on the way very soon. I'm excited to get sewing. If you are ever in need of genuine YKK zippers, Jennie from Zipit is a fantastic seller. She is very friendly, ships everything super speedily, offers bulk discounts and has a great assortment. :) Check out her shop!

Well I'm off to drink my iced Mocha and listen to some Sufjan Stevens with my son. I'm so obsessed with his All Delighted People EP. AMAZING. I also like that he's sings about God and Jesus. That makes me really happy. I'm just going to "out" myself right now. I'm a Christian and I love the Lord. Not gonna try to hide that at all. :)

Here are videos (really just the songs) of "Enchanting Ghost", "From the Mouth of Gabriel", and "All Delighted People (Classic Rock Version)" by Sufjan, from the EP I mentioned. Enjoy!

Have a fantastic day!

(Mini) Music Monday

I hope you had a great weekend! Ours included, a birthday celebration, sushi (verdict: the hubby LOVES it, me- not so much.), homemade pizza, Despicable Me... It was great!

So, I love The Shins, and my son loves Yo Gabba Gabba. Here is the video that brings them together. :)

Next weeks Music Monday will have more songs/videos.

Have a fantastic day!
